Sketchbook Show and Tell #5: Skyscraper Drawings

One of my favorite pastimes is keeping up with urban design and urban transit news here in California. I am a regular subscriber and sometimes contributor to http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/ Back in 1999/2000 I did a lot of sketches of fantasy skyscrapers. Here are a few of my more interesting designs, all of which have a definite art deco or art modern influence. My tastes in architecture have thankfully grown and expanded since making these drawings. Still it's fun too look back on what I thought was "ideal". Hope you enjoy.

  2. I think there is a definite Gotham city feel to these, I like them. Be interesting to digital 3d them in google sketchup or blender.

  3. Thanks for the comments guys. At the time I was obsessed with imagery from the film, Batman Returns. The Gotham City aesthetic is certainly apparent in these sketches. I, agree it would be very cool too see them rendered in 3D.

  4. Very nice, great architectural illustrations. I could see these in a real skyline.
